It is struck, and left readable underneath.
The cut through the O in our wordmark is a proofreader’s substitution mark — the oldest correction convention in typesetting. It is the only strike permitted anywhere in this house, and this page is the reason it exists.
Ten compositions were made. Five are carried. The other five keep their archive numbers, because a number is assigned once and never reused, and because pretending they were never composed would be a worse record than an incomplete one.

A formula reference carries its revision number, and the number never resets. When a composition is reworked the previous reference is not deleted from the record — it is struck beside the new one, so the history of a bottle is legible from its own label.
